In 2012, the Kennedy Center put on a special show to honor the band Led Zeppelin. The surviving members of the band – Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones were in attendance. The purpose of the show was to celebrate the band’s illustrious career that helped shaped rock & roll.
The highlight of the night was Heart’s cover performance of the classic song “Stairway To Heaven,” which included a collection of orchestral musicians and even a full choir. The song was so powerful that it brought Robert Plant to tears. I’m not sure if it’s better than the original, but it’s certainly a treat for any music fan!
