When the Brousseau family of Connecticut adopted their dog, Duke, they had no idea how much of an impact he would have on their lives. They didn’t know that six years after adopting him, he would do something life-changing, something that will never be forgotten. As Jenna and her husband drifted to sleep one night, Duke, a well-behaved dog, jumped on their bed and began shaking uncontrollably. His unusual attitude made the couple aware that something just wasn’t right. That’s when they went to check on baby Harper.
“He is insanely obedient, and so this was extremely bizarre,” Jenna recounted. She and her husband immediately made their way to their daughter’s room, where 9-month-old Harpy lay, showing no signs of breath. They called 911 and Harper was taken to the hospital. She’s now doing just fine, and she and her parents have Duke to thank for that. “He’s the perfect dog, he was meant – meant – to be ours,” Jenna said. Duke’s incredible act will forever be remembered.
