Being a single father isn’t easy. When the mother of your children isn’t in the picture, it can be hard to do things on your own. When she is in your life, it can be hard to navigate the relationship. A dad named Billy– father of two young boys– is in the latter situation. He recently shared his feelings online about his relationship with his ex.
“I’m raising two little men,” he says in the post below. That’s why– when his ex’s birthday came up– he decided to go the extra mile to make her feel special. Not because he wants to get back together or for any other selfish reason, but because he wants his boys to see their mom being taken care of. Even though it may not be fun or easy for him, Billy is setting the best example he can for his kids. Check out his post below:

It’s my ex-wife’s birthday today so I got up early and brought flowers and cards and a gift over for the kids to give her and helped them make her breakfast. Per usual someone asked me why I still do things for her all the time. This annoys me. So ima break it down for you all.
I’m raising two little men. The example I set for how I treat their mom is going to significantly shape how they see and treat women and affect their perception of relationships. I think even more so in my case because we are divorced.
So if you aren’t modeling good relationship behavior for your kids, get your [act] together…Rise above it and be an example. This is bigger than you.
Raise good men. Raise strong women. Please. The world needs them, now more than ever.
