Gayle King shared a selfie with Fox News host Jesse Watters after the two ended up seated next to each other on a cross-country flight Monday — a post that quickly drew backlash from liberal critics online.

The CBS Mornings co-host smiled alongside Watters in the photo, joking that the pair — “TV people from competing networks” — were sharing a four-hour flight together.

“Speaking for @jessewatters here: A good time was had by all! Hi, Jesse … saving your number!” King captioned the post on Instagram.

Critics on social media blasted King for what they saw as tone-deaf friendliness toward Watters.

“Gayle this is NOT IT,” one Bluesky user fumed. Rapper Talib Kweli echoed the sentiment, writing, “Nah Gayle, this ain’t it.”

Another user lashed out, calling Watters a liar, while others accused King of being “Oprah’s tone-deaf bestie not reading the room.” One simply wrote, “EWWW.”

Another commenter declared, “No principles. Not that I ever expected anything else of her.”

Some even suggested King was trying to curry favor with her new boss, CBS News chief Bari Weiss, who has reportedly been planning major changes to the network’s news division.
