Left-leaning firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez addressed her suburban high school yearbook photo but continued to sidestep her Westchester County roots.

“I’m proud of how I grew up and talk about it all the time,” AOC said on X Friday. “My mom cleaned houses and I helped. We cleaned tutors’ homes in exchange for SAT prep.

“Growing up between the Bronx and Yorktown deeply shaped my views on inequality, and it’s a big reason I believe the things I do today!”

Despite her insistence on being a ‘Bronx girl,’ AOC graduated from suburban Yorktown High School in 2007 under the name “Sandy Cortez.”

However, the Democratic Congresswoman’s “Bronx girl” narrative has faced criticism, with many in Northern Westchester recalling her as Sandy Cortez from Yorktown Heights.

“She’s embarrassing herself by doing everything possible to avoid admitting she grew up in the suburbs rather than the Bronx,” said state Assemblyman Matt Slater (R-Yorktown) on Sunday.

“She has said she visited extended family, and she has said she commuted,” Slater said. “Now she’s trying to straddle both. It’s clearly a desperate attempt to maintain the false claim that she’s from the Bronx.”

Ocasio-Cortez, who represents parts of the Bronx and Queens, exchanged online barbs with former President Trump last week after calling for his impeachment over bypassing Congress in the Iranian airstrikes.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sparked an online feud with President Trump while affirming her identity as a “Bronx girl.”

Trump labeled the liberal firebrand “one of the ‘dumbest’ people in Congress,” prompting Ocasio-Cortez to fire back at the commander-in-chief in a series of tweets.

“Also, I’m a Bronx girl. You should know that we can eat Queens boys for breakfast. Respectfully,” she tweeted, referencing Trump’s Queens upbringing.

Ocasio-Cortez was born in the Bronx, but her family relocated to Yorktown when she was five. She later graduated from Yorktown High School in 2007.

The 35-year-old left-wing darling has faced criticism over her suburban upbringing since her stunning 2018 upset win that launched her onto the national stage.
