Bella Hadid shared candid photos from a hospital room as she continues her battle with Lyme disease, with her supermodel sister, Gigi, offering heartfelt support.
On Wednesday, Bella posted several images on Instagram showing herself connected to an IV in a hospital bed. In one, she covered her mouth in distress, and in another, she appeared flushed while pressing a wrap to her forehead.
The 28-year-old Orebella perfume creator also included lighter moments: wearing a fuzzy Pikachu onesie, playing cards, enjoying a late pizza dinner, and sipping coffee while huddled in the corner of an elevator. She captioned the post, “I’m sorry I always go MIA I love you guys.”
Gigi, 30, was among the first to comment: “I love you! I hope you feel as strong and good as you deserve, soon!!!!!!” Their mother, Yolanda Hadid, added, “Lyme warrior.”
The supermodel, who has been battling Lyme disease for more than a decade, did not specify the reason for her current hospital stay.
Pal Tallulah Willis offered words of comfort, writing, “You are so loved, sweet bean.” Fans also flooded the comments with encouragement. One wrote, “Wishing you love and healing!” while another added, “Stay strong—you will get past this, Queen!!!!”
Although the Frankie’s Bikinis model didn’t reveal the cause of her hospitalization this time, she shared a detailed update on her Lyme disease treatment in a similar hospital post back in 2023.
She passed the time in the hospital by playing cards.
Reflecting on her journey, Bella captioned an August 2023 Instagram post featuring treatment photos: “The little me that suffered would be so proud of grown me for not giving up on myself.”
She continued, “Living in this state, worsening with time and work while trying to make myself, my family, and the people who support me proud, had taken a toll on me in ways I can’t really explain. To be that sad and sick, with the most blessings, privilege, opportunity, and love around me, was quite possibly the most confusing thing ever.”
The supermodel opened up about “almost 15 years of invisible suffering,” but said it would be “worth it” to be able to spread love “from a full cup” and to finally be herself “for the first time ever.”
Bella Hadid’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, has also battled Lyme disease.
Yolanda, 61, revealed that Bella and her brother Anwar, 26, were diagnosed in 2012 during an emotional speech in 2015. “This award is for Anwar and Bella,” she said while being honored at the Global Lyme Alliance Gala. “This is my token and my promise to you that I will not allow you to live a life of pain and suffering.”
Bella and her family aren’t the only celebrities affected by the chronic illness. Justin Timberlake announced his diagnosis with the “debilitating” disease in July, and Shania Twain shared in her 2022 Netflix documentary Not Just a Girl that she experienced “blackouts” and “dizzy” spells onstage before her 2003 diagnosis.
