DIY Wine Rack Created Using Recycled Cans

Decorating or redecorating a kitchen can be a seriously expensive task, so I always keep my eyes open for simple kitchen hacks that can save me a bit of money. In the video below, you will see how incredibly easy it is to make a simple yet unique wine rack using recycled cans. You’ll need nothing more than a selection of empty cans at least three inches in diameter, super glue, clothes pins, and some paint if you want your wine rack to be colored.

One of the things that I really love about this wine rack is that you can personalize it to match your taste; it could be flashy or subtle depending on your individual style! While you could leave the cans unpainted for a more modern and industrial look, a solid color, like the red used in the video, would create a more muted appearance that won’t draw so much attention. Love bright colors but don’t want them to be overwhelming? Consider painting just the inside of the cans – bright purple, sky blue, pinks and oranges would be great for this – and either leave the outside as is or paint it with neutral black or white. If you want to add a little extra flare to your wine rack, don’t be afraid to experiment with the use of multiple colors and patterns. If you don’t have a steady hand or simply don’t trust your own creative abilities, stencils are a great way to add patterning without having to stress over coming up with the design yourself or messing up your brush strokes. You can find stencils at just about any arts and crafts store, and they only cost a few dollars.

I’m definitely going to be making one of these this weekend for myself, and I can’t wait to experiment with colors. What do you think of this idea? If you’re going to try it out, what color scheme will you use? Have any other ideas on how to improve this wine rack? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
