Justin Timberlake was caught on camera yelling at his stage crew during his performance at the Lytham Festival in Lytham St Annes, England, earlier this month.
The pop icon appeared to lose his temper after his set was abruptly cut short due to sound problems, as shown in a fan-recorded video shared on TikTok.
In the footage, two crew members approached Timberlake to inform him that fixing the issue would take some time.
Justin Timberlake grew frustrated with his stage crew when a sound glitch interrupted his performance at the Lytham Festival in England.
The pop star was performing his 2002 hit “Cry Me A River” when the sound suddenly cut out.
Visibly upset, Timberlake appeared to raise his voice at the two crew members, shaking his head and making angry hand gestures. Ironically, he was in the middle of performing his 2002 breakup anthem, “Cry Me A River,” a song rumored to be about his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears.
Despite the festival crowd cheering him on as he spoke into the microphone, many viewers criticized the *NSYNC star’s behavior online. One user wrote on X, “HOW EMBARRASSING!! Justin Timberlake’s audio CUTS OFF right as he performs his Britney Spears hate anthem ‘Cry Me A River.’ I’m not saying he deserved it, but god’s timing is always right. Cry ME a river, Justin.”
He was observed speaking sharply to a crew member.
“Losing it with your support crew is considered highly unprofessional in the world of stage performance,” one commenter wrote under a TikTok video.
Others pleaded with lip-readers to decipher what Timberlake was saying to his crew, with one person adding, “I want to know what they’re talking about.”
However, many fans came to Timberlake’s defense, with one supporter commenting, “He hardly looks like he’s losing it. Just annoyed. I would be too.”
The “SexyBack” crooner also used forceful hand gestures.
“I don’t blame him for being a bit peeved,” another commenter said. “He’s trying to entertain his fans who paid money to see him.”
“I’d be mad too, damn,” a third added.
A representative for Timberlake did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Timberlake returned to the stage in the UK after canceling the final stop of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour in Ohio back in February.
At the time, the singer cited the flu as the reason for the cancellation, but fans were frustrated after reportedly receiving the cancellation notice just 15 minutes before showtime.
The “Mirrors” singer is now touring Europe, with the tour scheduled to wrap up in Turkey on July 30.
