Lieutenant Jason Walter has experienced rigorous training as a member of the Colorado Army National Guard, but nothing prepared him for the moment he asked his girlfriend to marry him. Walter and Marilu Sandness had been dating for four years when Walter decided to propose to her at the conclusion of her army training, 9News reports.
Walter contacted 9News ahead of time to document the life-changing event. In the following video, Walter and his family members are seen scouring the crowds for that familiar face. Once Walter spots his longtime girlfriend, he makes no hesitation to step in and make himself known. In a matter of moments, Walter is down on his knees muttering those unforgettable words.
