Kati loves decorating her home. Like many DIY enthusiasts, Kati turns to Pinterest whenever she gets stuck needs a little inspiration. For about a year, the large wall in her living room was completely bare and boring, and the blank space became an eyesore. It took her a while to think of ways to fill the space, but finally she stumbled upon a photo of a whimsical shower curtain — an Octopus Shower Curtain by Thomas Paul — and fell in love. Why not figure out a way to use the shower curtain like a wall hanging? Besides, it’s way cheaper than buying a piece of quality art.

With the help of her hilarious furry kids, Winston, Baby Bear and Fancy Pants, Kati created an an epic piece of wall art on a budget. You can make one for yourself using a shower curtain of your choice (there are so many cute and creative shower curtains these days) or any large piece of fabric.

Here are the items you’ll need:

  • Shower curtain
  • 2 pieces of wood, 2″ x 1″ x 70,” for the top and bottom
  • 4 pieces of wood 2″ x 1″ x 68,” for the sides and middle support
  • Nails or screws

Kati says Home Depot was awesome and cut the wood for free. She also notes that you want to make your frame slightly smaller so you have room to wrap it over your frame.

Is this something you’d make yourself at home? Let us know, and please SHARE this brilliant DIY project with your friends on Facebook!
